This exercise hits the triceps near the upper portion of the upper arm. There are a lot of various ways to perform a tricep pushdown, or extention and others but in this case I am standing more upright, with my elbows near my side instead of out in front. Having my elbows back tends to put more pressure on my upper triceps.
Cables / Functional Trainer
Cables or a Functional Trainer are great for triceps. I am making a lot of videos to help demonstrate a lot of triceps exercises using cables.
Personally, I really like tricep pushdowns and I like to go heavy too. I think a lot of people underestimate how strong their triceps are. Over the years I have been able to build up a lot of strength in my triceps which adds to the muscular tone of the arms. This is one of my favorite Tricep exercises.
Form & Safety
As always form and safety is extremely important. Injury is always possible. I have been doing movements like this for 26 years and adding weight is natural for me. Use caution and consult professionals. But keep in mind rule 2! Intensity is one of the rules I have lived by for over 26 years.

I have kept lean and athletic for over 26 years by creating a demand for calories and eating sensibly. Working muscle, growing muscle and sustaining muscle all take calories! With a sensible diet, the extra calorie demand allows me to burn off body fat that might otherwise be stored as fat.
