Fat Burning Muscle
This legs exercise is a great for adding calorie burning muscle to your body. The legs, glutes and quads are huge muscle that take a lot of energy to work, grow and maintain. These are a great bang for the buck so to speak.
The functional trainer is always a little different from free weights and the weight will likely be lower but switching exercises for variation is a great idea. The cable does pull forward and this in itself adds a unique stress to the body.
A lot of females will really focus on squats to help build shapely, toned legs and butt.
One challenge with this exercise is getting the handles into position. The legs are powerful and the smaller muscles such as the biceps have a tough time getting the bar into the starting position.

As always form and safety is extremely important. Injury is always possible. I have been doing movements like this for 26 years and adding weight is natural for me. Use caution and consult professionals. But keep in mind rule 2! Intensity is one of the rules I have lived by for over 26 years.
