This exercise is a fantastic for blasting my upper chest from multiple angles. Not only is my chest working hard to press the handles forward but it is also fighting the sideways, outward pull from the cables as well. This is a great chest exercise! Also, because the bench is in an angle the emphasis is on my upper chest to help give the body a more full, athletic look.
One challenge with this exercise is getting the handles into position. The chest press is a powerful movement and the smaller muscles such as the biceps have a tough time getting the handles into the starting position. A spotter can really help here.
Form & Safety
As always form and safety is extremely important. Injury is always possible. I have been doing movements like this for 26 years and adding weight is natural for me. Use caution and consult professionals. But keep in mind rule 2! Intensity is one of the rules I have lived by for over 26 years.

I have kept lean and athletic for over 26 years by creating a demand for calories and eating sensibly. Working muscle, growing muscle and sustaining muscle all take calories! With a sensible diet, the extra calorie demand allows me to burn off calories that might otherwise be stored as fat.
